This duplex for 4, is part of a small complex, with two shared pools, makes the ideal choice for friends or family who want to relax and explore one of the most beautiful regions of Switzerland. Hiking through the hills in autumn is particularly picturesque. Children will enjoy hunting for chestnuts and adults can appreciate the magnificent views. In the winter it is the perfect spot for relaxing in tranquil surroundings. Guests are spoilt for choice in the spring and summer months, with hiking or cycling through gorgeous countryside, boat trips or just lying by the pool in the sun.
The entrance is on the ground floor with the main living space on the first floor. The light-filled living/dining room with a high, pitched ceiling has large glass doors leading out onto a private balcony with uninterrupted lake views. The balcony is furnished with a dining table and chairs, for relaxed meals al fresco. Back inside, the seating area is furnished with an L-shaped sofa and a flat-screen TV. Next to this, there is a dining table with 4 chairs. The open-plan kitchen is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine.
Outside there is a shared swimming pool. Guests can bring their sun loungers down to the pool to relax after a refreshing dip. There is also a shared garden (3 minutes walk) which is separate and has direct access to the lake for swimming. There is a second swimming pool in the complex which guests can also use.

Bedroom 2: The second bedroom is on the first floor. This room has 2 single beds, a laptop-friendly desk and a wardrobe.

Location
The apartment is in the village of Morcote, on the southern tip of the Swiss side of Lake Lugano. The surrounding countryside is crossed with hiking paths ideal for enjoying this stunning landscape.
Morcote is known as one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland with its elegant buildings, some of which date back to the 15th century. Not to be missed is the church of Santa Maria del Sasso, which is stunning and set in a breathtaking position. A stroll around Scherrer Park is a walk in paradise. You will find a plethora of plant species from bamboo to magnolias all landscaped together beautifully with statues, sculptures and more.
The village of Vico Morcote (11 minutes) is equally stunning, set on the hillside above the lake and surrounded by vineyards. Vico Morcote is packed full of beautiful Mediterranean architecture and has a different feel to it from Morcote. Being higher on the hill, Vico Morcote has some of the best views around and as you explore you will stumble upon Swiss heritage sites, parks and other treasures. The Tenuta Castello di Morcote winery (13 minutes) offers wine tastings and excellent food. You can also buy the wine directly from the producers, to enjoy at home.
Lugano is only a 25-minute drive from the apartment. The city hosts many festivals throughout the year, including the “Luganomusica” festival every summer. For self-catering, the Lugano farmers’ market (Tuesdays and Fridays) in Via Carducci is the place to go to pick up the best ingredients.
The closest international airports are in Italy - Milan Malpensa 1 hour 5 minutes by car, or Milan Linate, a 1 hour and 16-minute journey.
